With profound sadness we announce the passing of Yolanda “Yolie” S. Rodriguez, our loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all whose lives she touched, on August 22, 2021.

She gracefully and peacefully left us while sleeping at her residence in Santa Fe, NM surrounded by her adoring children Michael, Patricia and husband Steve, John, granddaughter Lauren and husband Cody. She was 79.

Born in Santa Fe, NM to Federico and Victoria Sandoval in 1942, she enjoyed growing up with her sister and brothers Erlinda, Fred, Ramon, and Pat.  She cherished the wonderful times she had growing up in Santa Fe.  She graduated from Santa Fe High School in 1959 and shortly thereafter met her husband Mike and they wed in 1963.  They were married for 59 years.

She was the beloved mother of Michael, Patricia, John, Nicklaus, and proud grandmother of Lauren. She is preceded in death by her parents Federico and Victoria, her loving son Nicklaus, sister Erlinda, and brother Ramon. She is survived by her husband Michael J. Rodriguez, Sons Michael and John, Daughter Patricia Newman (Steve), and Granddaughter Lauren Cravens (Cody).

Yolanda lived a full life as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker and office administrator for NM State Personnel, NM Board of Medical Examiners and then retired from the National Education Association.  She also managed and ran the family apartment rental business with her husband Mike and their children.

She loved to cook, kept an immaculate house, was a highly skilled craft maker and especially enjoyed doting on her granddaughter, Lauren and her cats, Marsha and Kiki.  A devote Catholic, she was a member of the Our Lady of Guadalupe Church Altar Society and also coordinated the Holy Family Society for many years.  She enjoyed travelling and her quick weekend trips to Las Vegas with her husband and family.

Most of all she loved her family and instilled in her children and granddaughter strong values that have served them well. She will be dearly missed and will live on forever in our hearts.

A rosary will be held on Wednesday, September 1 at 7:00 p.m. at Berardinelli Family Funeral Home, 1399 Luisa St. Santa Fe, NM.  A celebration mass of Yolanda’s life will be held on Thursday, September 2 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 417 Agua Fria St., Santa Fe, NM, 87501.  A private Christian burial will be held at a later date.
