Our loving Auntie, Theresa Hernandez entered into eternal rest on Sunday, February 24, 2019. Theresa was a career employee of F.W. Woolworth and later worked at the Five and Dime Store on the plaza. She is credited with the creation and marketing of the famous Frito Pie that is still sold on the plaza. Teresa enjoyed crochet and embroidery and shared her work with family and friends. Her smile, generosity and hospitality will always be cherished and remembered.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Adolfo and Francisca Hernandez; sisters, Nellie Gutierrez and husband Fred, Sadie Ortega; brothers, Juan Luariano, Jose Guillermo, Adolfo Jr., Jimmie, Pedro and wife Flora, Jose Maria and wife Clara, Orlando Hernandez. She is survived by sister-in-law Josie Hernandez; brother-in-law, Juan Ortega and many nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces and their families.
A rosary will be held at 10:15 a.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at St. John’s Catholic Church with funeral mass to follow at 11:00 a.m. The internment will follow at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Cerrillos, NM.
