Susan Katherine Howard

Susan Katherine Howard, 69, of Santa Fe, NM, passed away on Monday, October 4, 2021 in Albuquerque, NM of renal failure while trying to get strong enough for an aortic valve replacement.  She was born to the late Charles & Dorothy Howard on January 24, 1952 in Cincinnati, OH. Susan is the beloved sister of Jim Howard (Pam), and cherished aunt of Jimmy Howard (Aly) and Sam Howard.  

Susan was a proud 1973 graduate of William Woods University in Fulton, MO.  She served on the Alumni Board for many years and was a member of their Board of Directors, Advisory Committee and participated in Alumni Weekend planning, attendance, and support of Alumni Weekend Auction events.  She also enjoyed representing WWU at College Fairs by promoting the University to prospective students.  

Susan was a long time resident of Dayton, Ohio where she worked for the United States Air Force for 30 years.  She spent the majority of those years working at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton but also spent several years living and working in England and Germany.

Upon retirement Susan moved to Santa Fe, NM to be close to the many friends she made while working overseas.  She was an avid traveler making friends wherever she went.  

Susan enjoyed a passion for genealogy and was a member of the National Genealogical Society, vice president and webmaster of her local genealogical society in Santa Fe, and a member of the organizing committee for The Genealogy Show in Birmingham, England.  She loved helping people find their roots.

There will be celebrations of life for Susan in Cincinnati, OH and Santa Fe, NM at the convenience of family and friends.
