Estella “Stella” T. Lucero, 88, born April 20, 1928, went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 23, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Lucero, Sr.; father, Felipe O. Trujillo; mother, Felomena Trujillo; brother, Carmen Trujillo; sister, Bennie Trujillo; and father-in-law, Aurelio Lucero. She is survived by her son, Herman P. Lucero (wife, MaryAnn); daughter, Doris Valdez (husband, Tom); grandchildren, Kathy Mahan (husband, William), James Lucero (wife, Ashley Heart), Nicholas Lucero, and Thomas Valdez; great-grandchildren, Clara, Miranda, & Tabitha Mahan, Vincent, Noah, & Sofia Lucero, and Brandon & Jacob Valdez; sisters, Sophie Hurtado and Dora Vigil; mother-in-law, Magdalena Lucero; and many other relatives. Stella was known as “my beautiful Estellita” and “my honey” by her loving husband, Herman Sr. They were married for 55 ye ars. She was a very devout Catholic and faithful believer in God, and was a member of St John the Baptist Catholic Church in Santa Fe, NM. Stella was a lifetime homemaker, and mother, and was always so proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her home had dozens and dozens of family pictures that she proudly bragged about to anyone who visited. Family was the most important thing to her, and her love for everyone showed. She was also particularly proud of her yard with all the flowers and trees. Our mom was greatly loved and will be greatly missed. A Visitation will take place at Berardinelli Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at 6:00 pm with the Rosary starting at 7:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will take place at St John the Baptist Catholic Church on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 9:00 am. Committal will take place at Rosario Cemetery, and a Reception will follow at McGee Memorial Center. Pallbearers will be: James Lucero, Nicholas Lucero, William Mahan, Thomas Valdez, Phillip Hurtado, and Michael Trujillo. The family would like to thank Bee Hive Home and Ambercare for the compassionate and loving care our mother received in the last months of her life.
