Ricardo Everardo Martinez

Richard passed away in his sleep at home on November 5, 2020. He had suffered a heart attack four days prior. Richard was born in Santa Fe on April 3, 1937 to Daniel G. and Isabel O. Martinez. He was a devout Catholic, and a lifelong member of St. Francis Cathedral. He attended St. Francis School and Santa Fe High School. He worked for the state of New Mexico until his retirement. Ricky was known for being a kind hearted and sweet soul, who loved people. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel G and Isabel O. Martinez, his sister Ernestine McCkay of West Memphis Arkansas, and his brother Victor B. Martinez of Blue Island, Illinois. He is survived by his sister Rosaline Gilbert of the home, his brother and sister-in-law Lee and Joyce Martinez of Santa Clara, California, and his sister-in-law Joan Martinez of Blue Island, Illinois. He is also survived by his closest nephews who helped care for him, Greg P. Martinez and John Gilbert as well as many other loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

We wish to thank the many relatives and friends who generously provided food, heartfelt cards of sympathy, Mass offerings and monetary gifts. A special and deep gratitude to Ambercare hospice nurse Sheryl , Dr. Thron, Delila, Stephanie and all other caregivers who attended to Ricky during his illness.
