Raymond Michael Martinez

Ray Martinez born August 5, 1949, in Santa Fe, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 15, 2020.

Ray lived his life to the fullest.  For over 40 years, he lived in the Los Angeles and San Francisco area.  In 2015, Ray retired from Stanford Medical Center to live in Rio Rancho, New Mexico.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Flora and Margarito Maes; uncle’s, Juanito Martinez, Ernesto Martinez, and Danny Martinez; aunt’s, Mauelita Lujan and Loyda Salazar.

Ray is survived by his brother, Gilbert Maes of Santa Fe, NM; sister’s, Dolores Gurule of Odessa, TX, and Margarita Samuel (Earl) of Tesuque Pueblo, NM; uncle, Joe Martinez of Santa Fe, NM; and aunt’s Tila Martinez of Albuquerque, NM, and Mary Treijo of Scaramento, CA; godson, Paul Capos of Phoenix, AZ; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.

A private rosary and burial will be held on May 29, 2020.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations to be made in Ray’s memory to the American Diabetes Association.
