Pauline Pino

June 5, 1932 ~ January 28, 2024 (age 91) 91 Years Old

Tribute

One special little lady, Pauline Pino, returned home to her loving Lord on January 28, 2024, knowing she would be reunited with her “honey”, Joe A Pino and her son, Benedict Pino.

She was 91 years strong. She was born in Las Vegas, NM and moved to Santa Fe in 1961 with her husband, Joe.  Her life was fulfilled with so much love, security, and happiness alongside her husband, Joe, of 53 years, four children, 12 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and many other loving relatives.  She worked 30 years for the State of New Mexico and was a dedicated parishioner at her church, OLG.  She was a member of the Alter Society and baked cakes many Saturdays to help with fundraising.  She loved singing in the church choir every Sunday. She was a volunteer at the MEG center assisting with bingo for over 35 years.

Although she worked 8-5, she was also a wonderful homemaker.  She was up early, some mornings as early as 4:30 am.   She would turn on at least one radio in her house.  She loved to listen to music and enjoyed dancing to the radio and at parties, weddings, fiestas, or senior dances. She especially loved dancing with her husband, Joe.  They won the jitterbug and rancheras competition at the Senior Olympics one year. She made bread weekly, and biscochitos regularly, which she offered to many who visited her.  She was up late into the night, making clothes for her family and herself as her children grew up.

She was an avid walker.  She walked to and from work many days.  She continued to walk around her park until this past fall.    Our Mother, Grandma, Ma, Aunt, Sister was lovingly and selflessly devoted to her family.  Although our hearts are broken, we know she is in the glorious presence of our Lord.

She is survived by one remaining sibling; her sister; Josie Garcia, sister-in-law; Bertha Herrera, 3 children; Dino (Dawn), Geri Hayes (Kenny), Adamina, daughter-in-law, Shelly, 12 grandchildren; Joe (Gen), Melissa Lechuga (Jason), Theresa Nix (Lee), Bryan Hayes (Lauren), Brandon Hayes, Jacob Martinez, Alyssa Baca, Aric Baca, Brandy Chavez (Rod), Anthony (Jessie), Connor and Sarah.

We give a HUGE thank you to her friend, Mary Helen Archuleta, who not only cared for her, but was her protector for the last 15 months.  Mom welcomed her into our family, calling her “little sister.”
