Pauline L. Lujan

April 24, 1931 ~ January 20, 2024 (age 92) 92 Years Old

Pauline L. Lujan, age 92, passed away peacefully at her home of over 60 years in Santa Fe, New Mexico on January 20, 2024, surrounded by family and loved ones. She attended the St. Frances School, graduated from the Loretto Academy, was a lifelong resident of Santa Fe, and was a parishioner of the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi. Pauline worked for many years at the First Interstate Bank in the Trust Department. Upon her retirement, she volunteered at the Palace of the Governors Bookstore and worked at her father’s legendary herb store, Lujan’s Place, on Galisteo Street. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Delfino Lujan and Frances Roybal Lujan; her brother, Robert E. Lujan (late Geneva); and a sister, Melba Beatrice Lujan Chancey (late Bill). She is survived by four sisters: Viola Lujan of Santa Fe, NM; Sister Charlotte Lujan of Wolfforth, TX; Bella Lucero (late Abraham) of Santa Fe, NM; and Mary Robinson (husband Chris) of Placitas, NM. She is also survived by a large extended family of nephews, nieces, and cousins. Pauline will be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, aunt, great-aunt, and cousin; for her care for her beloved dog, Lilly; for her dedication to her family and her work; and – most of all - for being the guidepost and matriarch of the Lujan Family. She will be dearly missed. A rosary will be held on February 1, 2024, at 10 AM and mass at 10:30 AM at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi in Santa Fe – followed by burial at Rosario Cemetery.
