Nicholas Ossorgin passed away peacefully at his home on July 19, 2021 following a long illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael M. Ossorgin VI and Lillian M. Ossorgin and his brother-in-law Reinaldo Santillanes. He is survived by his sons, Nicholas N. Ossorgin and John N. Ossorgin; step-daughter, Michelle Springer (Matt) and their mother, Margaret Kegel. He is also survived by his sister Lydia M. Ossorgin and husband Kevin Holthaus; brother Michael M. Ossorgin VII and wife Tina; his step-grandchildren, Isabella, David, Thomas and Matthew, and his nieces and nephews, Eliza Serna (Brian), Michael M. Ossorgin VIII (Anna) George M. Ossorgin (Faith), Michael Santillanes (Sara), Maria Gregori (Paul), Sergio Santillanes (Cait); Julianna Santillanes; great nieces and nephews, Jakob and Owen Gregori, Aidan and Cassiana Serna and Hanawenh Shenandoah and Lillian G. Ossorgin. Nick was a gentle spirit- a generous and kind man, who had many dear friends and was loved by all.
Nicholas Ossorgin was born in Annapolis Maryland and moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico with his family at age six. He attended Santa Fe Public Schools and St. Michael’s High School, graduating Santa Fe High School and St. John’s College. He also attended the University of New Mexico graduate school, seeking a Master’s degree in hospital administration. He worked for Ossorgin Construction and retired from the State of New Mexico.
Services will be held at Holy Trinity Orthodox Church at 231 E. Cordova Rd., Santa Fe, NM on July 24, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. with internment to follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
