Tribute

Natalie Garcia, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2024, to join our Holy Father in eternal peace.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Juan I. Garcia, her grandson, Lucas Garcia, her mother, Genevieve “Beva” Granito, her brother John Granito and her aunt, Mary “Mencha” Gomez.

Natalie was born in Cerrillos and was a life-long resident of Santa Fe, where she brought song and joy to all who knew her. She was a graduate of Loretto Academy and until recently met regularly with classmates for coffee.  Natalie loved coffee, and getting together with friends, old and new.  A lifelong member of the Third Order of Carmelites and a devoted Catholic, Natalie's faith was an integral part of her life. She lived by the values of compassion, kindness, and devotion to her family.

Natalie will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her, but her spirit, love, and laughter will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Natalie is survived by her daughters Andrea Pankey (James), Carla Harrell (Mike), Johnna Johnson (Mark), Jackie Garcia (Floyd), Mona Pelletier (David), Francesca Lanier (Troy), and Mia Garcia (Mike); 17 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; cousins Virginia “Nini” Lujan and Glynn Gomez; niece Maria, and nephews John, Fr. Mark, and Paul Granito.

Services will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at St. Anne’s Church with a Rosary at 9:00 a.m., Mass at 10:00 a.m. and the burial to follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
