Maria Elisa Aurora Roybal

Maria Elisa A Roybal, 86, of Santa Fe passed away August 27, 2021 with her family by her side. She was born June 22, 1935 in Leon Guanajuato. Elisa graduated from Comercial Bancaria in 1953, where she studied accounting. She also taught religion at the Minerva Academy in Leon. 

 She met her husband Edward F Roybal in Mexico City, where they fell in love and got married in 1966. They lived in Santa Fe together for 52 years.

 Elisa was a great cook and baker. Her family was everything to her, family gatherings were always her favorite. Her door was always open in her home where you felt the love and comfort only she could give. 

 Elisa is survived by her daughter Elisa (Bruno), Her three grandchildren, Abraham (Amanda), Erika, Julia, her great grandchild Achilles, Her brother Juan Manuel Ruiz (Lucy), Sister in law Domitila Clokey, her close friend Sarita Ponce, and numerous nieces and nephews.

 Preceded in death by her husband Edward F Roybal, her parents Juan Manuel and Macrina Ruiz Lopez, and her sister Cristina Vargas Ruiz.

 Thank you to Martina Flores, her caretaker, who not only cared for her but grew to love her. 

 Funeral services will be on Tuesday September 28 at Cristo Rey Church. Rosary will be at 9:30 am with mass following. Burial at National Cemetary at 2:00 pm.
