Joey arrived prematurely on a night of Thundersnow. He was taken from us prematurely in a senseless act of violence by a madman with a gun.
Joey loved cooking, playing his guitar and talking to everyone, and anyone, but his true essence is best summarized by a person who met him in July of this year. In her words:
“I met Joseph- totally by chance- as I was packing up from playing a gig at the Cowgirl- and he was leaving his Dad’s memorial. In our short exchange, I was so moved by that young man. Such a precious, soulful, sweet human. He made a lasting impression on me.)”
Joey would want us to remember the abundance of love he shined on all his family, and friends.
“We are living in a world, stars and dust,
Between heaven and all that surrounds us.
We’re travelers here, spirits passing through,
and the love we give, is all that will endure,
Just like a rose after the rain, something beautiful remains
Tears will leave no stains, Time will ease the pain
For every life that fades, something beautiful remains.”
Joseph is survived by his mother, Christina Genuario-Gill, stepfather Jim Gill, his brother Luke Aiello, his brother Nicholas Aiello, his niece Sophia Aiello, his many Aunts, Uncles, and cousins, his stepmother Mia DeSousa, he was predeceased by his father James Aiello on May 11, 2021.
A celebration of life will be held for family and close friends on Thursday October 14th.
