A Funeral Service will take place on Thursday September 5th, at 11:00 am at Christian Life Church located at 121 Siringo Rd. Santa Fe, NM. A Reception will take place following the service. A Military burial will take place at 2:15 pm at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

John Flores Lucero, age 89, passed away peacefully at home on August 25, 2019 surrounded by his loving family, Glenda, John Paul and Elaine Lucero. He was born to parents, Juan L. Lucero and Josefita Flores on April 1, 1930 in Villanueva, NM.

John served his country honorably as a Marine Sergeant in the Korean War. He later attended and graduated from New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas, NM, with a Bachelors degree in Psychology and a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology.  John later held career positions as a Psychologist for the Santa Fe Municipal Courts, Guidance Counselor in the Pojoaque Public Schools, Resident Psychologist for the Santa Fe Juvenile Detention Center, and Guidance Counselor for the Santa Fe Public Schools.

John married the love of his life, sixty-one years ago, Glenda L. Lucero on August 30, 1958 in Santa Fe, NM. He and his family have been members at Christian Life Church of Santa Fe for over 25 years.

John is preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Josefita and six brothers and sisters in order of their birth, Maria Galiz, Margaret Torres, Jose Lucero, Cecilio Lucero, Ignacio Lucero, Catherine Montoya, Chana Olivas; brother-in-law Richard Brewer; Cousin Merlin White and daughter, Kathy; Cousins Placido and Cela Bustamante; nephew, Markus Jon Hendricks; Sister-in-law Theresa Brewer.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Glenda L. Lucero; daughter, Elaine Lucero; son, John Paul Lucero; sister-in-law, Debra Hendricks, married to Richard Hendricks and sons Robert Hendricks, Ken Hendricks married to Krystal Hendricks, daughters Maylene and Lacie Hendricks; nephews Tyler & Swylvia Hendricks and sons Markus and Ellijah, brother Korey Hendricks, wife Adara, daughters Aria and Melody, mother Jacci and Monotowine & family; Brother in-law Robert Brewer, wife Anne Gladstone, Robert's children, Sharon Valdez and daughter Nettie married to Santos, children Haythem, Arianna, Zayah, Annie’s daughter Julia & Bernie & Mickey; Jennifer Brewer, mother to Candice and Jenae Bobchak; James Brewer, Daniel Brewer, wife Rachael Claxton, children Harlan and Charlie, mother, Jean; Sean Brewer and Michelle; Josefita White, Rose, Mandie White, Phil & Jan White and children and grandchildren; Paul and Becky Bustamante, son Paul Jr., 2 daughters and granddaughter; Gerald Bustamante, and family and many, many other nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
