Mr George Espinoza

George Espinoza (77) passed away peacefully on Feb 4, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. George was born in Santa Fe, NM on May 1, 1945 to Miguel and Ursula Espinoza.

George's biggest joys in life were his family and working on his many cars he owned through the years. George had a strong work ethic and spent his life working many jobs including a career at the State of NM and working at the NM School for the Deaf.

George had an amazing sense of style, and he always took great pride in his appearance. He enjoyed spending holidays with his family and would frequently be found attending many special events in and around Santa Fe including his favorite: Fiestas De Santa Fe, where he would spend his time listening to and enjoying the music and festivities. George sure loved to dance.

You could always spot George by his hat, meticulously ironed shirt, and perfectly creased trousers. He always stood out and could easily be noticed in any crowd.

George was preceded in death by his mother and father, Miguel and Ursula Espinoza; son Michael Espinoza; Brothers Arsenio, Thomas, & Larry Espinoza; Brother-in-law and close friend Peter Ortega; and In-laws Thomas and Clorinda Vigil.

He is survived by the mother(s) of his children Alma Vigil and Connie Leyba; Children Eddie Leyba (Lanette), Donna Espinoza (Steve), and George Espinoza Jr. (BooBoo); His loving and special sisters Cecile Ortega and Mary Anne Sanchez, Espina Mary Louise Espinoza, and Espina Patricia Bernadette Gonzales; Grandchildren Tiffany, Brittney, Sebastian Diamond; Step-grandchildren Josh and Taylor; Great grandchild Cecilia.

Please join family and friends Wednesday Feb 15th, 5-7pm for a special viewing at Berardinelli funeral home. Rosary will be held from 9-10am, followed by a mass from 11-12 at St. Anne's church. Reception will immediately follow from 12-2pm. His burial will take place at Rosario Cemetary at 2pm.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Cecilia Ortega. Not only did she help in raising her brother, George, but her strength, love, and support have made laying George to rest peacefully possible.
