Tribute

FLORENCE “FLO” HART

Florence “Flo” (Kiesov) Hart passed away in her home peacefully May 12, 2023. She was married to Robert Hart for 49 years and is survived by her six kids, Kathy, Rob, Jim (Brenda), Ron (Jen), Roch (Kathy), and Jeanie (Russell), twelve grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was proud to be a second-generation native Santa Fean of German and Polish descent. Active in her children’s lives, she was involved in Cub Scouts, St Francis Cathedral School, and St Michaels High School. She volunteered at St Vincent Hospital in the Auxiliary, eventually making her way to President and helped coordinate the move from downtown to its current location. Flo then worked for the hospital going from collections to admitting to the medical laboratory. Post employment, she enjoyed traveling the world with Bob and relatives, loved playing golf and bridge, and painted retablos and whimsical pieces. A devout Catholic studying theology for eighteen years and active Altar Society member, she was the first woman at St Francis Cathedral Church to give the Second Reading at Christmas Eve Mass paving the way for others to follow.

She is dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Her family is eternally grateful to her exceptional long-term caregivers. Presbyterian Hospice took wonderful care of her.

Mass will be held on Monday, June 12, 2023, at Santa Maria de la Paz Catholic Community at 10 AM. A reception will follow Mass at the Santa Maria de la Paz parish hall. Burial services will be at Rosario Cemetery at 2 PM. Pallbearers will be her beloved grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Carmelite Monastery of Santa Fe, 49 Mount Carmel Road, Santa Fe, NM 87505-0352.
