Eva M. Maes

November 29, 1947 – November 23, 2022

Eva M. Maes passed away peacefully surrounded by family after a short battle with cancer on Wednesday November 23, 2022. She was born November 29, 1947 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She was a wonderful, caring and loving sister, aunt and friend.  She is preceded in death by her loving parents Marcelino and Carmen Maes, and her beloved niece Connie Lynn Jimenez (Siltala).

She is survived by her siblings Socorro Siltala (Cyril) Jess Maes (Margaret), Marcella Tafoya (Peter), Louise Anaya (Mike), and Joe Maes. Her nieces and nephews Carl Siltala (Sarah), Jacinta Granillo (Cisco), Adam Anaya (Brenda), Jerry Anaya (Camille), and Reuben Anaya. Grandnieces and nephews Amanda and Jessica Jimenez, Sol Siltala (Jordyn), Davin Siltala, Angelina and Adam Anaya Jr, Ella, Jude and Bea Granillo, and great grandnephew Elliot Andrew Siltala.

Eva worked most all of her career with various State Government agencies and retired from the New Mexico Department of Transportation.

Eva loved spending time with her beloved nieces and nephews and adored them all.  She never forgot their birthdays and always had something for them for their birthdays and for Christmas.  She will always be in our hearts and will be greatly missed by her siblings, nieces, nephews, friends and many relatives. 

The family would like to thank Morada Quintessence Assisted Living in Albuquerque and Luna De Valle Hospice for the wonderful care they gave to our beloved Eva.

A rosary will be held at 10:00 on December 14, 2022 at St. John’s Catholic Church with mass following at 11:00. The burial will take place at Rosario Cemetery at 12:30.  Arrangements are through Berardinelli Family Funeral Services.
