Eva Marie Aschenbrener

Eva Torres Aschenbrener, 80, of Santa Fe, NM passed away in her home on June 6, 2021 surrounded by her loved ones.  Eva was born on October 17th, 1940 in Trinidad, CO to Judge J. Frank Torres and Crusita Kimball Torres. She was preceded in death by her parents Judge J. Frank and Crusita K. Torres and her brothers Lawrence J. Torres and Frank Torres Jr. She is survived by her beloved husband of 53 Years, Carl J. Aschenbrener of Santa Fe, her daughter, Tara Geise (Josh) of Tampa, FL and grandson Cody Geise. 

Eva loved Santa Fe and enjoyed giving back to her community. She volunteered and served on the boards of several organizations over the years in including the Santa Fe Opera Guild Board, United Way, Santa Fe Orchestra Board, Santa Fe Pro-Musica, 400 Santa Fe Club, Los Jardineras, New Mexico Hispanic Preservation League and the DAR. She was a storyteller and tour guide and prided herself on her knowledge of New Mexico history. 

Eva attended Colorado State University and Adams State University and received her degree in dietetics. She and Carl met and got married in Chicago. 

Services will be held on Wednesday, June 9th at St. Francis Cathedral in Santa Fe at 10 AM.
