Elvira T. Lujan (nee.Trujillo) died peacefully in Henderson, Nevada on August 11, 2021 at the age of 98.
Elvira is survived by her daughter Ana Lujan Brady (John), granddaughter Karrie Receconi (Jessie Friend), grandson Marc Lujan, sister Ruth Romero, great-granddaughters Isabella Receconi, Sofia Receconi and Portia Receconi. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross Lujan, father Lorenzo Trujillo, mother Rafelita Portillo Trujillo, siblings Elisa Trujillo, Ernestine Farrar, Micki Jewett, Tobias (Benny) Trujillo, Cecilia Adams and Lorenzo (Larry) Trujillo, Jr.
Elvira was born in 1922, in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She graduated from Loretto Academy and went on to work for the Federal government. In 1949 she married Ross Lujan and they had one daughter. Employed at the Federal Employees Federal Credit Union for over 25 years she retired as an Assistant Manager. Elvira acquired many friendships in her career that remained for the rest of her life.
One of her great passions was being a member of La Sociedad Folklorica. Her years as a member enabled her to participate and organize the yearly fashion show during the Fiesta de Santa Fe. She enlisted various friends and family to model.
Elvira was an active and dedicated member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and taught religious education for several years.
Visitation is scheduled at Berardinelli Mortuary on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at the Cathedral Basilica at 10:30 a.m. followed by a service at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:45 p.m. Pallbearers: Marc Lujan, John Brady and Jessie Friend.
