ELLEN WILCOX WILLIAMS BACIGALUPA  Longtime resident of Santa Fe,  died peacefully at home on January 23, 2018.  She was 88 years old and born in Brooklyn, NY, April 24, 1929.  She was an artist and co-owner of the Studio of Gian Andrea on Canyon Road.  Ellen was passionate about women’s issues, education, conservation, spirituality, and international peace.   She was locally known for her volunteerism with Church Women United, the Historic Neighborhood Association, the Santa Fe Neighborhood Network, the Old Santa Fe Association, Liturgy in Santa Fe and St. Bede’s Episcopal Church.  She was a world traveler, with extensive trips to India, China, Russia, Central Asia, Europe, Mexico, Cuba and Canada.  She attended Bronxville New York public schools, earned a BA from Elmira College and an MA from St. John’s College.  Ellen married Andrea Bacigalupa in New York City in 1952.  The couple moved to Santa Fe in 1954 and soon after founded The Studio of Gian Andrea on Canyon Road.  She loved living in that adobe home/studio, where she raised her children and followed her passions for decades.  She was preceded in death by her husband Andrea and is survived by her five children Gian Bacigalupa, Pier (Mongel) Bacigalupa, Ruan (Camille) Bacigalupa, Chiara (Shelly) Bacigalupa, and Ria Bacigalupa; six grandchildren Angelina (Omar) Villaseñor, Gianna Albaum, Angela Bacigalupa, Antonia Bacigalupa Albaum, Melissa Bacigalupa, and Makenna Beall; and one great-grandchild, Marcello Villaseñor.  Memorial service will take place on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 1:00pm St. Bede's Episcopal Church, temporarily located at St. John’s Methodist Church, 1200 Old Pecos Trail, Santa Fe, NM 87505.  In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Church Women United, http://www.churchwomen.org or St. Bede’s Episcopal Church.
