Edward F. Roybal, age 84, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 10, 2018, at the Las Palomas center in Albuquerque, NM. He was born May 30, 1934 in Santa Fe, New Mexico, to Carmel and Rosa Roybal. He grew up East of Santa Fe off Acequia Madre and was a graduate of Santa Fe high School. He enlisted in the U.S. Air force in 1954, later to be honorably discharged. He met his wife, Maria Elisa Roybal, in Mexico City where they fell in love and got married in 1966. On February 21, 1974, they had their first and only child, Elisa. Edward loved his Daughter, son in law, and three grandchildren like no other and was the best father/grandfather anyone could’ve asked for. He is survived by his wife, Maria Elisa, Daughter, Elisa (Bruno), Three Grandchildren, Abraham (Amanda), Erika, Julia, and his two sisters Leanore Rodriguez, Domitila Clokey, and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Carmel and Rosa Roybal, His siblings, Benny Roybal, Margaret Sanchez, Mike Roybal, and Vivian Anaya. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, December 18th at Cristo Rey Church. Rosary will be at 9:00am with mass and lunch following. Burial at National Cemetery at 1:30pm.
