She was dedicated to her family, raising three children and participating actively in the lives of her three beloved grandchildren. She was a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood from 1980 until her death as a member of chapters in Illinois, New York, Texas and New Mexico. She was also a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church and a resident of Brookdale Senior Living in Santa Fe at the time of her death.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her two sisters Jackie Mizell Underwood and Almeta Mizell Young, her husband Fred, and a daughter, Janice Marie Springer. She is survived by her three children, Kathy Springer Kuddes (Allen, TX), Paul Springer (Jackson, WY) and Carol Springer Luttrell (Santa Fe, NM) and three grandchildren, Denver (Santa Fe, NM), Austin (Seattle, WA) and London Luttrell (Santa Fe, NM).
