Cordelia "Cordy" Martinez

Maria Cordelia “Cordy” Martinez passed away peacefully in her sleep.  Born to Carlos Martinez Sr. and Ruth Martinez of Santa Fe on June 10, 1948.  She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Alfonso and Sixta Garcia and her paternal grandparents, Andres and Filomena Martinez. 

She is survived by her parents; brothers, Coco and Chris; nephews, Carlitos and Stephen; niece, Kristianna; great-nephews, Adam, Stephen, Josiah; great-nieces, Bryhanna and Irene.

Cordy attended and graduated from Loretto Academy in 1966 and pursued and received her B.A. & M.A. in Teaching.  She taught in Texas and in New Mexico at Pojoaque Middle School, where she successfully retired.  Amongst many of her accomplishments she was Jr. Miss, Miss Congeniality, Fiesta Queen in 1967.  She was a very loved and cherished by her family, friends, and students.  She will be greatly missed and kept close to our hearts.

Rosary will be recited on Friday the 28th of December at 10:00am. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on the same day at 11:00am, both at St. Ann’s Church. Burial will follow at Rosario Cemetery.
