Cecilia D. Sanchez, 62, passed away peacefully surrounded by her husband, daughter, grandson and friends on April 11th, 2017 after battling Lewy Body Dementia. Cecilia was born on June 5th, 1954 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Cecilia is survived by her husband of 45 years Don Sanchez, daughter Donna Sanchez, grandson Marcos and numerous friends. Cecilia was a dedicated educator who loved helping children learn to read and write. When she wasn't in the classroom, she could be found cheering on her husbands basketball teams. Her home was always filled with loud basketball players who she loved like her own. Cecilia also enjoyed coaching her daughters cheerleading team. As a proud grandma "Nana" to Marcos, she accompanied him to all his sports and school events. He will forever be her Marcitos. Cecilia was an amazing wife, mom, nana, friend and teacher, who will be greatly missed. Cecilia had a smile and laugh that will forever be missed. A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 7:00p.m. at Santa Maria de la Paz. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 10a.m. at Santa Maria de la Paz with burial to follow at Rosario Cemetery. Pallbearers: Beau Anderson, Bob Lopez, George Valdez and Tony Gonzalez.
