CAROLYN L. HERRERA

Carolyn Lea Herrera, 75, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2021 at Kindred Hospital in Albuquerque, NM following a short illness with her loving husband, Arthur, by her side.

Carolyn was born on January 26, 1946, in Lubbock, TX and was adopted by an uncle and aunt and moved to Farmington, NM.  Carolyn, while working for the State of New Mexico met her current husband.  She eventually moved to Santa Fe, NM to marry him and they were both looking forward to celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary later this year.  

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Arthur Herrera; her children from her first marriage, daughter Dannette Anderson (husband Andy) and son’s Pete Barrington, Mark Barrington (wife Vanessa Pham), Dustin Ryan Barrington; and Granddaughters Becca Jones (husband Austin) and Cameron Anderson and Grandson Andrew Barrington. She is also survived by a brother-in-law, George Herrera (wife Ceceilia) and a sister-in-law, Diana Herrera (wife Jane Sandoval). She was preceded in death by her parents Louie Wright and Oleta Smith; her sister, Dorothy Moses; and Michelle Barrington her daughter-in-law.  

In keeping with Carolyn’s wishes, a viewing with a non-denominational service will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Berardinelli Family Funeral Home beginning at 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, with cremation to follow.  In lieu of flowers it is requested a donation in her name be made to the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association.
