Carl J. Hughes Jr.

Carl J. Hughes Jr., 88, passed away on June 15, 2022.  He was born on January 29, 1934 to Stephania Kasica Hughes and Carl J. Hughes Sr. in New York City.  He grew up in Southern California and graduated from Pasadena City College where he met his future wife, Annette.  After serving in the Marine Corps. in Korea and Japan, he sold real estate in the San Gabriel Valley, later becoming a Real Estate Officer at Security Pacific Bank until retirement. In California he was a member of Pasadena Elks and Optimist Club as well as volunteering at Glendale Adventist Hospital.  He and Annette moved to Santa Fe in 1993 where he enjoyed woodcarving and won Best of Show at the New Mexico State Fair. 

 He is preceded in death by his parents, Stephania and Carl Hughes Sr..  He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Annette, and daughters Andrea Cuadros and Patricia Hughes (Atul Nautiyal) and four grandchildren, Jennifer and Nicholas Cuadros, and Andrew and Tashi Nautiyal.  Burial service will be at the Santa Fe National Cemetery August 8 at 1:30 p.m.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation to the American Heart Association or the charity of your choice.
