Aurora S Chavez

Aurora S. Chavez went to be with the Lord on May 6, 2022.  She was born on April 17, 1934, to Onesmio and Carmelita Salazar in Holman, New Mexico.  She married Processo Chavez on January 30, 1954.  Aurora worked for the Santa Fe Public Schools at Sweeney Elementary in Santa Fe, New Mexico, for many years and was known to all the students as grandma who she all loved.  She was a great and loving mother. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren dearly and shared a special connection with each of them. 

She is preceded in death by her parents and stepfather, Moises Romero; husband Processo; daughter Diana Valdez; sister, Mary Gonzalez; and brother, Max Salazar.

She is survived by her children: Ted Chavez (Donna); Cathy Cde Baca (Charlie); and Yolanda Marquez. Grandchildren: Rudy Garcia; Steve Marquez (Christine); Crystal Troupe (Neil); Charlene Cde Baca (Michelle); Charlotte Cde Baca; and Joey Chavez.  Great Grandchildren: Neil Troupe; Marcus Cde Baca; Kaden Troupe; and Raelyn Chavez. 

Special thanks to Mary Rodriguez and Ambercare, hospice staff, for taking excellent care of Aurora.

A rosary will be recited at Berardinelli Funeral Home on Wednesday May 11, 2022 at 10:00 am. The burial will take place at a later date.
