Tribute

Aurelia C. Pacheco “Sunshine,” peacefully passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Aurelia was born in Costilla, NM on November 12, 1928. Memories of her childhood were filled with fun adventures of growing up with a large family in a rural farm setting.
Aurelia worked at Kaune’s Food Town where she was given the nickname, Sunshine. She was active at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe’s soup kitchen, catechism program, prayer group studies, and perpetual adoration.
Aurelia is preceded in death by her parents, Rosabe and Moises Cordova; her maternal grandparents, Anastacio and Antonita Vallejos; her husband, John Pacheco; sons, Charles Anthony, Gregory, and Steven Pacheco; Cora and Frank Selph; several siblings and other relatives.
Aurelia is survived by her children: Rosabel Pacheco, Loretta King (Vladmir), Daughter in law - Bernadette Pacheco, Theresa Vargas (Stephen), and Vioma Trujillo (Alfonso); Grandchildren: Venessa, Christina, Kesha (Senon), Jennifer, Amanda (John), Charlene, David (Tanya), and Maria; Great grandchildren: Mya, Jayson, Isabella, Dominic, Elijah, Orlando, Jerome, Andre, Sophia, Bentley, John Charles, Xavier, and Harper. Aurelia was blessed with many loving relatives.
Aurelia’s spirit radiated humility, grace, and kindness; thus, opened her heart to an abundance of beautiful friends and family. Aurelia’s home was the grand central station of faith, laughter, food, and shelter. She will be greatly missed by many.
The family would like to thank the people who helped care for our mother during her illness and passing: Christina King (granddaughter); Marcos Salazar (cousin); La Familia Medical Center (Dr. Devitt and Diane); City of Santa Fe Respite program (Debbie, Tammy, and Theresa); Meals on Wheels (Wanda and Eric); Ambercare Home Hospice (Hans, Lizeth, Elizabeth, Rhyannon); Father Bill Sanchez; Deacon Joe Garcia (Terry). A special thank you to Lourdes Lopez, Tessie Lopez, Georgia Roybal, and Yolanda Narvaiz for their continual love and support throughout our mother’s life.
Pallbearers: David John Sena, Stephen Vargas, Vladmir King, Steve Segura, Alex Lopez, and Alfonso Trujillo Jr.
Honorary Pallbearers: Jose Cordova, Richard Cordova, Francis Selph, Iley Selph, Senon Martinez, Esteban Trujillo and Alfonso Trujillo Sr.
A rosary will be held at Berardinelli’s Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 29, at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe on Wednesday, May 30, at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
