Armando Gonzales 72, of Tortugas NM, passed away on 03/11/2021 after complications from Agent Orange and Covid-19.
Armando was born on 06/03/1948 to Paul and Lucy Gonzales in Tortugas NM. After graduating from Las Cruces High School in 1967 he was drafted into the Vietnam War and served as an Army Ranger in the 4/9 Manchu Division from 1969-1970.
After his military service, he landed his first job as a Border Patrol Agent for Homeland Security and retired as a U.S. Customs and Border Protection Agent kicking off a 35-year career in the Department of Homeland Security.
Armando met Margaret and they wed in 1972 going on to have 3 children, Nicole, Clarissa, and William.
After retiring, Armando spent his time with grandchildren, taking care of his pecan trees, revisiting old western movies and T.V shows, traveling and catching up with friends and family.
Armando Gonzales was predeceased by his parents Paul and Lucy Gonzales, and his sister Terry (Nona) Chacon. He is survived by his wife Margaret, his children Nicole, Clarissa and William, his sister Anna, nieces Roxanna and Kathleen, and his grandchildren, Andrew, Izadora, Joaquin, and Shyla.
