Loving Father, Husband, Brother, Grandfather and Friend passed away peacefully in his sleep amongst family and friends on September 11, 2022 at the age of 89. He is preceded in death by his grandmother Estefana Trujillo, mother Elicia Trujillo, sisters Rosina Garcia and Anita Ewing, wife Florence Trujillo, and daughter Roselee Jonette Sam. He is survived by his brother Daniel Trujillo, first cousin Philip Trujillo and grandchildren Daniel and Maria Sam.
Antonio E. Trujillo was born and raised in a small neighborhood of Santa Fe located on Elena street alongside four other siblings. He tragically lost his mother at the age of nine and was fostered by his late grandmother into adulthood. He got his first job working for the mail company when he was a young boy and delivered the morning paper via bicycle throughout his community. As a young man he enlisted in the Navy and was honorably discharged after serving four years of service.
After serving in the Navy, Antonio returned to Santa Fe and married his beloved Florence Perez and together they adopted their young niece Roselee Jonette Trujillo, who they groomed to be a caring wife, mother and friend in reflection of their own sentimental values. He participated in organizing the Entrada de Santa Fe as a member of the Caballeros de Vargas and became a well known figure inside his community. He moved to Picuris Pueblo after the passing of his wife where he lived out his days in the care of his late daughter and surviving grandchildren. He was a devout catholic and remained happy and in spirits all the way from the beginning to the end.
Services for Antonio will take place Friday September 23, 2022 at the Santa Maria de la Paz Church. Rosary will begin at 9:00 am followed by the funeral mass at 10:00 am. Burial will then proceed after the funeral mass where he will be laid to rest at the Santa Fe National cemetery at 11:30 am. The Family of Antonio will be hosting an after burial reception across from Berardinelli's Funeral Home in observance of Antonio's life and accomplishments.
