RANDOLPH, Max N., 87 - A Santa Fe Treasure, friend, father, grandfather and colleague, died peacefully at home on Sunday, August 4th. Max is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bea and his son, James.
Max was a dedicated catholic and a loyal friend whose mind held a virtual library of names, faces and relationships of Santa Fe families. Mention a name and Max would respond with a list of parents, siblings and relationships connected with that person. He knew their jobs, their residences and their contributions to family and/or community.
There will never be another “Max-a-Million.” He was truly one of kind and his passing from this world leaves an enormous void, not only for his family, but for our entire community. Max was known and loved in many parts of our community, as a member of Los Caballeros deVargas, La Union Protectiva, the Elks (BPOE) Lodge #460 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Of greatest value perhaps was his 37 years of dedicated service to Berardinelli Family Funeral Service and the families entrusted to our care.
As Max aged and his work hours decreased, it was almost a tiring task for our staff to greet mourners at our front door, each and every one who would ask “Where is Max?” or “How is Max?” He was a dedicated fixture in the operation of Berardinelli’s, to such a degree that the chapel at Berardinelli’s was officially dedicated the “Max N. Randolph Chapel” in 2006.
He will be sorely missed, not only by his funeral home family and the Santa Fe community, but in particular by his family of origin: daughters: Cathy Gutierrez and Teresa Martinez, 7 grandchildren 22 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Services for Max are as follows: On Friday, Aug. 9th there will be Remembrances and Testimonials in the Max Randolph Chapel. All are invited to share an experience or story about Max from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Friday at St. Ann’s Church on Hickox Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a..m. Saturday, August 10th at St. Ann’s. A reception will follow at the St. Ann Parish Hall. Interment will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 14 at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be: T.J. Martinez, Michael Sandoval, Richard Sandoval, Tony Martinez, Mikey Sandoval, Victor Villa, Bobby Romero and Aaron Mascarenas.
Vaya Con Dios, nuestro hermano - have no fear, you will never be forgotten.
