With his family and caregiver, Alma, at his side, Henry Leo Gallegos, 83, returned to his Creator, on Tuesday, January 23, 2018. Henry (Hank) was born in Santa Fe, on September 1, 1934, to Esequiel (E.T.) and Rita Apodaca Gallegos, now deceased. He remained a lifetime resident, contributing to the community by serving on both the Santa Fe Public School Board of Education and St. Michael's High School Board of Directors. Hank is survived by his loving wife Roberta (Bobbi) Quintana Gallegos, his sister Rosina Ortiz, and brother-in-law Alex J. Quintana; his five children: Greg (Debbie), Carla Gallegos Parker, Roberta Gallegos (Juan) Siller, Michael (Jolene) and Paula Gallegos (Greg) Baccei; his beloved grandchildren: Ashley Parker, Stephanie Siller (Curtis) Thompson, Steven (Daisy) Siller, Emma and David Romero-Gallegos (their mother Karla Romero), Alex, Bethany and Saige Gallegos and Georgia Allen (Theo) Smith. His great- grandson Mateo Romero Ortega also survives him, as well as many cherished Godchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and special friends Frances and Bennie Quintana. Henry graduated from Santa Fe High School in 1953, lettering in basketball, tennis and track. He attended the College of Santa Fe, playing tennis and basketball. He graduated with a BA in accounting after serving two years of active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces. He remained an active alumnus until his passing. Archbishop Edwin V. Byrne married Henry and Roberta, on August 23, 1958. Henry was employed at the New Mexico State Highway Department, retiring in 1988. Henry served as a Eucharistic Minister at the Cathedral for many years, and was a member of the Coro de la Sagrada Familia.
