Gloria B. Gallegos

GLORIA B. GALLEGOS November 22, 1948 – March 12, 2024, it is with broken hearts that we announce our beloved mother Gloria entered Eternal Life peacefully surrounded by her children James and Francine.  She is preceded in death by her parents: Juan Lucio and Antonia “Toni” Maria Ortega, brother Richard Ortega and husband Jimmy E. Gallegos and many other family and friends. 

 Gloria was a devout catholic and a member of The Guadalupanas de Chimayo.  One of the most memorable times of her life was when she was able to travel to Europe on a religious pilgrimage to celebrate Pope John Paul II’s Jubilee, by visiting Rome, Jerusalem, Jordan, Church of the Holy Sepulchre and many other religious places.  

Gloria made many wonderful friends some becoming like family while working for J.C Penny, Dillard’s and The State of New Mexico, Department of Health.

She was a terrific mother, always instilling and strengthening her Catholic faith to her family and friends.  She would remind us that we were very blessed and when times were tough, and we would complain “why me”, she would say, “why not you” carry your cross and trust in Our Lord.  She worked hard to support her children and brought them up with integrity, strong morals, values, and the understanding to be dedicated to working hard and to always be kind to others.    She will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her.

Services will be held on Tuesday, March 19th at St. Anne Parish beginning with a Rosary at 9:00am -10:00am, Mass at 10:00am-11:00am, followed by Interment at Rosario Cemetery at 11:30am to conclude with a Celebration of Life luncheon back at St. Anne Parish from 12:00 noon to 3pm.

Flowers may be sent either directly to St. Anne Parish on Tuesday morning by 8:30 or brought to the  services or In lieu of flowers please pay for a mass in her honor.
