Anna G. Ortiz, born April 9, 1933 to Roman and Florinda Gallegos in San Jose, NM  passed  away peacefully surrounded by family on September 9, 2017. Married Romeo Ortiz, Christmas Eve 1950 In Fort Monmouth, New Jersey where he was stationed in the US Army. They were married 65 years when Romeo preceded her in death. Surviving her are her children Don (Karole), Bob (Edna), Shirley Rehders (John), Ray (Yolanda), Catherine Jowers (Glenn) and Michael (Paula), 18 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Also survived by sisters Mariana Catanach, Patsy Hollis (Don), Isabel Washburn, brother Donato Gallegos (Priscilla) and sister-in- law Amelia Kingman(Al). Annie was a very devout Catholic. She was the religious education director at San Isidro Catholic Church in the  Village of Agua Fria for 25 years. She was a Cursillsta, active in St. John’s Catholic Church altar society, St. Vincent’s de Paul , and was a Santa Fe County Election Poll Clerk. She was a master red chile and tamale maker. Annie and Romeo so enjoyed their camping and fishing with their family and friends. She was always the glue bringing people together.

A Rosary will be held Monday the 18th at Berardinelli Mortuary at 7 pm. The Mass of  Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday the 19th at 10 am at San Isidro Catholic Church PARISH CENTER. Interment will take place at the National Cemetery at 1:30PM following mass.
